Regular lubrication of the cutting cylinders of your paper shredder is essential to maintain optimal shredding performance. Fellowes Document Shredder Oil conditions the blades to extend the life of your shredder. For best results, oil your shredder every time you empty the waste paper bin or at least twice a month. To oil your shredder simply hold down the reverse button. Press the oil over the entire inlet of the paper while holding the button down. Hold down the reverse button for another 10 seconds to make sure the lubrication has spread into the knives. The 12 oz plastic bottle with an elongated tip ensures complete coverage. For use with all cross-cut and micro-cut document shredders. Do not use spray oil to lubricate your shredder. These lubricants are petroleum-based and can pose a serious fire hazard.
